Danny and Sean met at a holiday dinner in December 2025 and immediately hit it off. Danny, a lifelong history enthusiast, started telling Sean about his work with the Comanche community and an idea he could not shake. With the tools that exist now, what would it take to bring incredible stories, cultures and moments in history to life in ways that simply were not possible before?
One conversation turned into hundreds, experiments became projects, and somewhere along the way Firewood Studios was born. Formed with one goal: make really good visual storytelling accessible to more people, and have a ton of fun doing it.
Sean Rubin
Sean Rubin runs the content and media. He has always loved stories and art and creativity and has been making movies since fourth grade. Some of his favorites are Whiplash, Children of Men, The Florida Project and Marty Supreme.
Sean was born a creative. He studied film and TV at UCLA, NYFA, UNCSA and NYU. After graduating he went on to create a variety of films and promotional work, including leading the launch film for a congressional campaign and running the campaign for the first sanctioned MMA event ever held in Times Square.
Sean loves to hang out with friends, watch movies and travel. He is on a career path to write and direct for film full time.
Daniel Rizza
He runs the business: the structure, the partnerships and the capital that turn a film from a plan into a production. It is the half of the work that decides whether a film gets made at all, and he has spent his career doing exactly it.
Danny was born an entrepreneur. He graduated in 2008, straight into the financial crisis, and spent the first nine years of his career in institutional finance learning the trade before moving into real estate brokerage and investment, where he got to flex the more dynamic half of himself. He has been starting businesses ever since and is, forever starry eyed, working on several now.
Danny loves to hike, travel, and spend time with friends and family, and he can usually be found with his dog, Otis.
